המרכז לתרבות קוריאה נרשם כעמותה בינואר 2006 על ידי מר ליסון ה. צ'ו. המטרות של המרכז הן קידום יחסי קוריאה-ישראל והכרת תרבות קוריאה בקרב ישראלים. המרכז מהווה חלק מהפרויקט הגלובלי – ישנם מספר רב של מרכזים מסוג זה בכל העולם. אחד המניעים להיווסדות המרכז בישראל הייתה העובדה שתרבות קוריאה אינה מוכרת בארץ.

האגודה הקוריאנית שהוקמה בשנת 1985 מייצגת את הקהילה הקוריאנית שמונה כ500 איש, מתוכם כ300 גרים בירושלים. רובם סטודנטים לתארים מתקדמים. אחת המטרות המרכזיות של האגודה היא קידום יחסי קוריאה-ישראל ולשם כך היא ערכה בעבר מספר אירועים תרבותיים בירושלים ותל אביב, כמו למשל, "יום קוריאה". המרכז לתרבות קוריאה מרכיב פעילויות של האגודה ומציע מגוון פרויקטים תרבותיים כגון: חוג לשפה הקוריאנית למתחילים ומתקדמים, חילופי שפה, הקרנת סרטים קוריאנים, מפגשים בין תרבותיים עם סטודנטים מקוריאה ועוד. כמו כן, ניתן ליהנות מהתצוגה של חפצי תרבות, ספרייה של ספרים וסרטים בקוריאנית ועל קוריאה ואינטרנט קפה או תה.

The Korean Cultural Center in Israel was established as a registered association in January 2006 by Mr. Lisun H. Cho. The center aims to advance Korean and Israeli relations as well as to enable Israelis to be aquainted with Korean culture. This center forms part of a world-wide project. Similar associations exist in various other countries. One of the motivating factors for establishing this center in Israel was the fact that Korean culture is relatively unknown here.

The Korean association formed in 1985, represents Israel's Korean community. Their number is estimated at around 500, 300 of whom reside in Jerusalem. Most are students pursuing advanced studies.

The Korean Cultural Center has held a number of cultural events in Jerusalem and in Tel-Aviv, such as "Korea Day". The center organizes cultural events and offers a range of activities such as: a Korean language courses (at novice and advanced levels), screening Korean movies, cross-cultural language-exchange meetings with Korean students, and so on. Those who visit the center can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and have access to a display of cultural ornaments, a library of Korean books and films, a range of books about Korea and internet access.
